Brightness Mirror

>>

Technologies Used:

HTML, CSS, JS, P5.js

The Brightness Mirror is a tutorial by The Coding Train on YouTube that I followed when I was first looking into P5.js. The brighter a pixel, the larger the shape representing it becomes, and I was interested in how I could use this effect to produce unique photos. I edited the appearance slightly between photos by changing the colour, shapes, and size to experiment with different outputs. I find it interesting that when the image is smaller, squinting at it makes it look more detailed. When the image is bigger, it turns back into a mass of shapes that can be harder to identify. As well as being a fun introduction into P5.js, it showed me more advanced concepts such as connecting it to the camera and editing pixel information.

My dog Rosie makes a good subject for these photos!
